Intermediate/Advance Class
MKA is offering intermediate and advanced-level instruction. Groups will be separated by experience level. Locations are dependent on water levels and will be decided by an instructor before each class. Sessions are limited to 6 participants.
3 day Intro with Whitefish Parks and Rec
We will outfit Whitefish Parks & Recreation's 3-day Intro to kayaking program. Kids from ages 9-15 will learn about all things kayaking on Whitefish Lake and then progress to the river. Please contact Whitefish Parks & Rec for availability.

MKA wants to grow our kayaking by getting folks on the water! This free offering will happen twice a month for all past participants! Locations will vary depending on the group's ability level. $5 gas donation is appreciated! Kayaking is a dynamic sport! Kid Specific Swift Water Training
These courses will get individuals comfortable with moving water. We will teach river hydrology, identify river hazards, learn knots, and how to be a concise river recreator.

Partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation for a 3-day intro course. Contact the Boys and Girls Club to join this course.

We are offering a 3-day intro to water course with Ancient Traditions out of Columbia Falls. We will be going over the basics of rivers. We will get kids comfortable in understanding rivers. We will raft, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard. This course is for 9-13 year olds. You can connect with Ancient Traditions to sign up for this program.

Bigfork Youth Center Intro to Kayaking
We are outfitting a week-long kids’ intro to kayaking camp with Bigfork Youth Center. Flatwater progression into moving water. All ages accepted. Please contact Bigfork Youth Center for availability.

One day intro course for Iron Horse Summer Camps. These courses are not open enrollment and can only be reserved through Iron Horse.
One Week Kids Camp
Join us for an unforgettable week-long adventure on the beautiful Flathead River! This introductory whitewater kayaking camp is designed to give kids a fun and hands-on experience on the water. Over the course of the camp, campers will learn essential kayaking skills such as wet exits, paddle strokes, and river maneuvering techniques.
We'll dive into river fundamentals, including eddy lines, ferries, and important river safety practices. Our goal is to instill a strong understanding of the river environment while building confidence in each participant, both on and off the water. By the end of this camp, campers will have a solid foundation in kayaking, as well as the knowledge to safely navigate the river.
ADVANCED Wet Wednesdays

Our Intro to Kayaking program is great for all ages interested in whitewater kayaking. We begin our 3-day course in calm flat water and progress to moving water and eddy lines. Start by learning all about the kayak and equipment, then get comfortable with the wet exit, paddle strokes, and water dynamics. Limited to 10 people per program. Classes run for 5 hours. Morning classes are 9am-2pm. Afternoon classes are 3pm-8pm.
Must complete this program before starting on a 5-week program.
