MKA is in the Great Fish Community Challenge!
Greetings Montana Kayak Academy friends and supporters. Summer is finally here and our youth programs are in full swing with lots of amazingly talented local kids making great strides in the water.
As you may know, we rely on public support to fund our non-profit organization. We have been accepted into the Great Fish Challenge, through which we will be seeking donations to help support a variety of existing programs. MKA offers free youth kayaking clinics to local children between 8 & 18 yrs old; starting in the pool during the winter and progressing to local lakes and rivers during spring and summer. These classes are taught by certified and insured instructors with all gear provided. We feel this is a very unique opportunity for our participants in an effort to educate our families about proficient river safety skills, etiquette and stewardship.
Through the Great Fish Challenge, the Whitefish Community Foundation will match a percentage of the funds that we raise. The Challenge giving period runs from July 25 to September 13. Thus, every dollar that we raise during this period will result in an even greater amount of support for our programs.
Donations through the Challenge must be on an official donation form, which we will post on our website and Facebook page. The Whitefish Community Foundation will also mail an official donation form to local households, and will have an electronic donation form on their website commencing July 25 (www.whitefishcommunityfoundation.org).
We are excited to participate in this year’s Challenge and appreciate your support and encouragement!
